Nursery Island

Found this Blackheaded Gull colony on an island in the middle of the moorland. No apologies for the fuzzy chicks, they don't respond to instructions from a photographer sprawled on a hilltop spying on them! The adults are so sleek and clean looking that the fluffy balls of grey do not appear to be the right looking offspring!
Further on, Snipe were everywhere feeding, circling, calling and  drumming.
Got a good walk in good weather before a few showers fell in the afternoon.
