Fairport Convention at St Mary's Sandwich
A smashing day. Good walk in the morning in lovely sunshine. An afternoon at the allotment planting out brassicas, weeding and picking broad beans - first of the season. My, the soil was hot. Kneeling down doing the weeding it was almost too warm to put your hand on.
Chris and DeShaun sent us the latest scans of their baby. All good news, all going well. These scans are amazingly detailed. Looks like it's a big one for this stage.
The evening saw us whizz down to Sandwich to see Fairport Convention on their 50th Anniversary Tour again. It didn't disappoint. They were in fine form. All the musicians in the band are so talented but of them all Chris Leslie is a king amongst kings in my (our) view. Multi-instrumentalist, superb singer, talented song writer and overall very pleasant gentleman. Oh! and he also makes violins.
Baby waterbirds update on Mote Lake: Ducklings 10 - 2 Cygnets. A suprising score in that the ducks have been able to maintain their brood while the swans have lost two cygnets. Must report on the swans on Mallards lake next.
