Espana
We had a relatively short but varied journey from Lerma to Segovia. It started in warm sunshine and went through torrential rain and back to warm sunshine. It went from rolling hills to flat plains to misty mountains in the distance to mountains right there in front of us. Our 17th Century Parador became a modern up to date Parador. Swapping opulent pillars and traditional art for stark concrete, brick, rusty metal and graphic design.
The heavy showers continued through the afternoon but between them we went to see and photograph the Alcazar. See Igor’s blip of it. Segovia is the city of fairy tale castles and large cathedrals and also boasts a Roman Aqueduct which sits in the middle of the city in all its glory (more of that tomorrow).
