Best laid plans

We decided to walk to Servoz today which took us 3.5 hours, a pleasant walk through the forest, with some precipitous paths. Our original intention was to walk back the way we came, but it took us longer than expected. The walking signs give walking route times but we find they are very mean and it takes us a lot longer. Anyway, the second plan was to take the bus back from Servoz but having arrived there at 2pm, the next bus was at 5pm. So then we decided to walk back through the valley. Unfortunately, the heavens opened at 4pm and we were sheltering under a tunnel waiting for the rain to subside. I then saw a bus and as we weren't far from the next village and knew this was a half hour service, I suggested we made for the next bus stop which we did. We took the bus into Chamonix and had an early dinner. We were dry by the time we returned to the hotel. We have seen several rock climbers around and these two amused us.
