Heavenfield (back blip)
Yesterday I had to drive home from the Howgils, we had stayed in a wonderful Pub called The Black Swan we had a lovely but all too short stay.
The accomodation is brilliant, the food exemplary and the beer, oh the beer, I can thoroughly recommend Scafell Blonde.
I always feel slightly low when I'm leaving Cumbria, I love the place and wished that perhaps I lived there. My love of the place goes back to when I was about six or seven, I vividly remember having a book about maps and in particular I loved the page on Cumberland and Westmorland (now Cumbria) I was fascinated by the Lake District and in later years I became transfixed, like a lot of others do on A.W I was mesmerised by the detail and the dedication he showed and probably made the Lake District far more popular than it was.
I could pontificate for ever on my love of the hills.
I dabbled in fell running for a while but now sadly my knees have decided that they've had enough and at the minute gentle walking is all I can manage.
This blip is at Heavenfield, I had to return, I think that I've found my favourite place of the moment, the view is fantastic it's very peaceful.
