Scandal Beck with Smardale Gill Viaduct

Today A and I found ourselves in North Yorkshire, well went to Kirkby Stephen in an attempt to try and relive some of A's past, what we hadn't realised was the Tour of Britain was passing through, we waited and we waited and after an hour we saw the blurry outline of Brad Wiggins and Mark Cavendish, it was peeing down with rain, they (the cyclists) were soaked and and really scruffy looking? The crowd was rather large and there was lots of cheering when they passed.
We then went into Kirkby Stephen to find our accommodation only to find it was 5 miles away in Ravenstonedale, what a beautiful place it is.

This evening we had a nice walk to Smardale Gill viaduct, about 4 miles it was a very pleasant walk although navigation was a little tricky.

Tonight we're looking forward to a nice meal and some real ales (well I am)
