Turkish delights ?
A Turkish do tonight with lots of traditional Turkish food after a full day of visitors and jobs. Nearly everyone there was Turkish Cypriot.
What interests me about these local Turkish gatherings is the centre table where the older / senior women sit. And it's nearly always the same.
About 8 ladies sit in the middle, don't move from their seats, eat first, click fingers, reject food by pushing plates away, indicate for others to do their bidding, and always start puddings before anyone else has eaten anything.
I asked someone about who decides who sits at this table, and she said that the ladies choose, and I guess that makes perfect sense.
Anyway, I'm pooped after lots and lots of 'conversation' and standing up all evening. Elbows was kept on his toes as there were lots of sub-agendas ...
