Pond skater

I can spend hours watching these little creatures in the pond. I looked them up on Google to find something interesting to write about them only to find that it was full of long scientific words that meant nothing to me. The only fact that stuck in my mind was that the young have to get far away from their mothers soon after their wings appear as the mothers are likely to eat them. Perish the thought!
