... gratitude

The birds sounded so joyful this morning.  Nineteen mm of rain fell in the night, with the promise of another, bigger storm later in the week. I'm not sure if this changed the situation in Cape Town's dams but my garden is wet and more abundant today, and for that I'm grateful.  
The orchids are not as abundant this year, and the flowers smaller than usual, but they're flowering as best as they can, given the circumstances. I'm grateful for this colour, their beauty and the lesson.
