Troutbeck circular walk

Setting out early we started at Troutbeck and took the Garburn track. We passed below the summits of Sour Howes and Sallows before bearing left and heading up Yoke,Ill Bell, Froswick and Thornthwaite Crag with its magnificent 14' high beacon. The weather was cooler and breezier than expected in the morning but thankfully there were only a few spits and spots of rain. We returned to the village over Park Fell and past Troutbeck Park. The blip is an old barn we spotted in Hagg Gill. There are a couple of extras as it seems one of the local farmers has a sense of humour. The stile even has a sign warning of the presence of a bull despite the lack of any fence. The hay bales just made me giggle.

An excellent day: 12 miles walked, 3400' of ascent and four new ticks on the Wainwrights chart.
