Blown away

I found these roses face down on the ground underneath their bushes, snapped off by the strong winds we have had overnight and this morning. I gathered them up and as they weren't too damaged I have floated them in a glass dish together. I am not sure how long they will last, but they should still look pretty when my Mah-Jong friends come this evening.
The torrential rain has passed over but it is still very blustery with the occasional burst of sunshine. The grass is covered with leaves blown off our two evergreen trees - I think evergreen must mean that they shed their leaves the year round! Just now we had a sudden very loud clap of thunder, literally out of the blue! It really made me jump!
