A Pied Wagtail

Today was another washout with regards to the weather! I took this shot of a pied wagtail this morning as I walked along the River Wharfe near Boston Spa in the pouring rain. It was busy dashing to and fro picking up material for its nest, but momentarily perched on some driftwood lodged in the river so I could grab a hasty snap. He seemed so cheerful and lively.

It was just an old fallen tree he was on, but in the photo it looks like it is a carved work of some sort.

This was the best of the few shots I managed.
