Early birthday present

When Mum and Dad were here last week they bought me two new garden pots for the front of the house. I have now planted them up with some new plants. The weather over the last couple of days has done its best to batter them but they appear to be holding up well.

Today was a decidedly bad day. The weather caused the cancellation of the planned walk of a section of the Cumbria Way. To make matters worse the power was cut off from 9am to 3pm. Too wet to walk, too wet to do some gardening, no hot water  - all the hot taps are pumped for some unknown reason and hot drinks limited to a flask I filled before the power went. Had fully charged iPad and laptop last night so at least I could tether to the 4G signal on the mobile and graze on t'internet. On the up side I couldn't do the washing or the ironing either!
