The Thin Blue Line

I have heard that spending cuts mean that the Police are now spread thinly but PC Slim is taking this to extremes - The tinplate sentinel stands guard over the Colne Road at Laneshaw Bridge 24 hours a day.

When the Government talk about putting more Police on the streets - I'm not sure that this is what most people expect. I wonder if PC Slim here counts in the official figures for Police Officers?

Joking aside, Constable Slim is quite effective - from a moving car he is surprisingly lifelike, - it took me a couple of times to be sure that it was just a fold out display board! I've seen one or two cars slow down when they saw him - Yesterday evening, I was returning from the Colne side and an oncoming car was flashing headlights to warn of a speed trap!  He, he.

An extra I couldn't resist was spotted at Blackburn Services - Britain joins the Space Race - presumably calling in for a pit stop and a top up of V+ rocket fuel?
