Mar Blava

The view from the breakfast terrace. Below it a sunbathing platform has been carved from the rocks with a ladder to the sea. The sea is blue and very clear. You can see the fish swimming below you. Although Menorca has beautiful beaches I've decided they are not for me. Here I can lie in the sun, swim in the sea (a wee bit cooler than yesterday, a breeze) 5 minutes from my room without worrying about how to guard my possessions, or how to get rid of the sand. It is perfect for me. The schoolkids come down for their swimming lessons, jumpong in and swimming across one side to the other. I watched the ferry steam off to Barcelona at lunchtime and ate breakfast leftovers followed by an orange.

This morning I sat on the balcony and sewed. The view from the balcony is not so pretty but it is lively having outside space. I finally finished 'A God in Waiting' the companion to 'Life After Life' by Kate Atkinson. Brilliant books, both of them. This afternoon I've lain on the hard rocks on my bew towel and listened to chick lit interspersed with swimming. It is great to swim in a buoyant sea.

Tonight I will go out to dine, with Nicci French, although that may well go back before I finish it.

Tomorrow I may go to Mao. Or I may not.
