Digitalis

In the great green park with the wooden palings -
The wooden palings so hard to climb,
There are fern and foxglove, primrose and violet,

The heart protection properties of Digitalis (the genus to which the foxglove species belong) was known in the 18th century.

Toxic and therapeutic.   For good and bad.   Isn't nature amazing?
