El Gouna Waterways, Egypt
El Gouna is a privately built town - owned, I am told, by a multi-billionaire.
All vendors have to be vetted and are not allowed to hassle tourists or they lose their rights to their shops - it is kept very clean and has good links to surrounding towns.
It is surrounded with waterways linking the town, the marina and the hotels - a ticket for a week is ten Egyptian pounds and allows you to travel freely for seven days - this bridge is just outside the "town centre".
