Fruit & Veg Report

This afternoon we bought a little persimmon tree to espalier along the fence.  It crops early and hopefully one day it will have as many fruit as this pictured tree.  This tree is at the brother in laws and we came home with some free persimmons and feijoas.  At the end of his road a new fruit and veg store has opened which is aiming to sell mostly locally grown produce.  I bought  yams, carrots, a swede, leeks and onions all for $7.  I was given a pumpkin because it was a little soft at the stalk.  A good shopping experience I thought.
Off to a neighbours to watch the rugby tonight.  Canterbury our top team are playing the British Lions touring team.  We put in $2 and a score and who ever is closest to the winning score takes the pile of coins.  I'm going for a high score to Canterbury.
