A Tiny Feather
16.6C with a bright start then cloudier with showers through the afternoon. Moderate Southerly breeze with gusts to 31 mph.
Grocery shopping.
We went the ten miles or so South to Southend then followed the road round past Dunaverty beach and Kiel to Carskey Bay. No seals spotted today.
At Carskey we walked along to the far end and came back again. There was a hooligan on a trail type motorbike racing up and down the beach. Noisy and far too near where any nesting birds might be. Fortunately the tide was high and incoming so he didn't stay long and peace soon returned.
Lots of Gannets were flying at speed along the bay, some high and some sweeping low over the waves. None stopped to dive. We did see some Oystercatchers, and some Ringed Plovers and one large Black Backed Gull which was probably looking for any disturbed chicks. There was one yacht in the distance. The sea looked quite rough and there were lots of waves breaking and rushing up the sand.
No eggs at Little Farm's roadside stand but we didn't need any today.
F1 from Canada on telly late this evening if I don't hear the result beforehand.
Later Apothecary7 was painting.
Afternoon music ... BBC Radio 2.
