Late sunshine

Here is the sunflower that i've been waiting many months to grow tall, and bloom. It's been unfurled for about a week now, the hoverflies and bumbles (spot the bumble in the photo) are loving it as they travel from afar, their gaze fixed on this large, tall, yellow target. One of an original six that I grew this year, most of which were consumed by snails and slugs over the wet weather. This one didn't escape either, but was at a stage where it could recover, and grow new leaves.
