Back to work

Sadly not an artistic creation but chipping away at rather a large lump of granite to make it smaller, as one does. Indeed this lump of granite has been in our cellar since buying the house and has proved too heavy to move outside.
At last a use for it as the first step in a set of stairs connecting the lower level of the house with the middle one. My carpentry skills and patience will be sorely tested but Tricia is giving me a head start with three stone steps. Before anyone says Tricia does all the hard work, it was me who moved it across the room.
Stiflngly hot, one of those days when just moving breaks one out into a sweat so hiding away in a cellar was not a bad plan.
