The Elephant House
Went in by bus today to a meeting of the Scottish Tribunals Forum. While the children's hearings are not tribunals in one definition ( in that they do not have salaried or legal chairs) many of the issues we face such as recruitment, appraisal, conduct, IT development are all mirrored in the tribunal world. So it is helpful to be an observer and contributor where appropriate to the detailed discussions the Forun has. It is a particularly active time st the moment as various tribunals move into the Scotyish system and others, such as reserved tribunals, adjust their engagement and involvement in the Scottish arrangements. For some the process has been taking 7 years!,
On my way back homed to get ready to head in to the office I passed the Elephant House, run by a good friend of the family. Apart from the range of teas, coffees goodies etc, it is is one of the locations in Edinburgh where JK Rowling wrote Harry Potter. Even today there are tourists aplenty taking photos.
