A little ray of sunshine

I'm not following you

For years we have been planning a trip to The Forbidden Corner and today we finally made it. Not without event though. Having sat on the campsite and watched 2 fire engines, several police cars, a few ambulances and the rescue helicopter head up the valley, we opted for the even more scenic route which climbs and twists and turns as it heads north to Middleham. If that wasn't excitement enough, half way there we encountered a herd of cows with their gorgeous calfs blocking the road, oh and the most enormous bull I've ever seen. He soon past my brother in laws car and stopped by a post right next to us for a good scratch. Rather too close for comfort in my mind, even in a big metal box.

Eventually the herd was passed and after a picnic with some overly friendly, greedy ducks we spent a good few hours exploring follies, caves, mazes and gardens in the glorious sunshine. The doorway in the photo is at the end of a tunnel that gets narrower as you walk down it. Perfect for kids, didn't fancy it myself though!

Back at the campsite and time for an icecream and to throw more stones in thd Wharfe. A tasty tea, thanks to my mum who arrived with my dad this afternoon, then an early night for all.
