Name that Wildflower
There are so many beautiful wildflowers already and there will be different ones blooming all summer. I only know the names of a few of them and, even though I tried to find this in my flower book, I still don't know what it is. I was out early with my camera to capture the flowers in the morning sun and it's a good thing I was. By 9 a.m. the wind started to blow making it really miserable to be outside. It's just starting to calm down now at 9:30 p.m. Luckily, our trailer is cozy and comfortable so we were happy to hang out inside listening to music, reading and playing games. We also spent time visiting with the camp hosts who are our good friends and another couple whom we see here frequently in the summer. I do hope for better weather tomorrow, though!
As promised, I'll tell you about our day yesterday. We were so prepared in the morning that we were able to drive away from our house at 8 a.m. after a leisurely breakfast. We would get to the lake by 11:00, a few hours earlier than our usual arrival time..... When I got to the first stop sign I noticed that our trailer brake monitor wasn't on. Luckily our nephew is a mechanic and knows a lot about trailers so we drove to his place of work. He was so good to stop what he was doing and check it out for us and get it fixed. We owe him! Anyway, that took a little over an hour. When we finally were on our way we took a different route and I missed a turn. We realized it right away but it's not that simple to get 42 feet of truck and trailer turned around so that was another delay. Once we got headed in the right direction we thought it was all good. Then we started up the canyon and there was a repaving project that delayed us another 30 minutes.....and then another roadwork delay when we were almost here. So we got here at 2 p.m. making it a 6 hour trip instead of 3. But, when we got here, our lovely hosts and saved our favorite site for us and we were able to back right in and get set up. That made it all okay but we were very tired after the drive and setting up camp. Piper was such a good girl. She loves riding in the car and was no trouble at all. She loves it here as much as we do. So that was our adventure yesterday. Hoping for less wind tomorrow so we can get out and explore! :-)
