Greenway
Walking the Greenway when it is thirty degrees can feel like hard work. When joining the Greenway in Lenno and heading in a northerly direction there is a short stretch with what I would call a steep hill. No doubt seasoned walkers would take it in their stride, and even I have to admit it is a fairly short section, and the rest of the walk undulates more gently. The air was a little hazy today, and having achieved the workout section of the route my clothes felt rather clammy when I had cooled down a bit.
At the end of the walk there is the welcome sight of the 3.5 Mile cafe in Tremezzo where we have lunch and a cooling glass of wine. One purpose of our walk was to visit the shop where the work of a local artist (Sabrina Morganti) is sold. Among other things we like to pick up some calendars of her work showing local scenes. One we leave in the apartment, and the rest will eventually become presents.
Before starting on the walk we stopped at the Caffe Fiori shown in the picture. They have an excellent apple strudel to provide me with some energy for the walk ahead. The Bar is connected to the local garden centre, and so there is also a shop at the back of the bar selling plants and flowers. The bar itself is always very prettily decorated.
