The vineyards of Gigondas.

A wide view of the Rhone valley, looking over the rooftops of Gigondas.
Although the weather has been so hot for many weeks, everything is still looking beautifully green.
The green fields you can see, are vines, vines and more vines.
The vineyards of the Southern Rhone, but dotted in between are fields of melons and strawberries,  Orchards of cherries, apricots and peaches. As well as olive groves. 
This area is a true paradise, especially for anyone who loves food and wine.
Our lunch was the " Menu du jour" at the local bar/cafe in the little village of Sablet.
14 euros for a delicious 3 course meal including wine.
