Elvas is not Dead!

Sorry, corny joke, but we really did visit a place called Elvas and though it has some interesting history, unlike Elvis, it is not dead!  Started out taking L to Spain as she had never been - the fact we only spent 45 minutes in Olivenza and the fact that it is hotly disputed by the Portuguese to actually belong to them with some justification does not detract from the fact that L has now been to Spain!  On back into Portugal where we visited the Center for the Science of Coffee in Campo Maior - very well put together history of coffee and amazing array of coffee machines from all ages.  Finally on to Elvas where this main photo depicts the multi-storey aqueduct which carried water to the city from 1622 (completed June 23rd) so almost 400 years old!  Anyway, it was impressive non the less!

We finished the day at a great restaurant Al Andaluz where we experienced excellence in food and wine and a very attentive and passionate owner.  Great day all round with the most hospitable and engaging family and friends M & D!!
