There and back again

Axminster Carnival

The weather was kind, it was warm and dry and the Carnival floats seemed larger, longer and brighter and it didn't take hours to travel around its route.

Mrs M and I popped down the road to our oldest daughters house which overlooks the route and I sat with a beer in my hand watching the procession pass.

Most of the big floats which have hundreds of lights, are built by Carnival Clubs who spend the year between carnivals building their creations and raising money for it.

The result is that it all brings the town on the streets together to have a wonderful evening and the collections taken during the event go to support local organizations.

I loved the theatrical lighting, costumes and scenery on this float so it was awarded the Mikes Blip of the Day Award
