Bedtime antics
Awww thankyou for all yesterday's love!! It was a good photo-day ;-> Typically it's being followed up by a non-photo day, so I have some low-light shots of the boys to choose from instead. Couple more here and here. (Or a photo of the new Messy Mama logo which I finished drawing last night - maybe I'll save that until it's properly finished!) As lovely as it is to have the DSLR back, it's a struggle getting used to its focussing foibles again. (Please please please buy my posters and postcards and mugs (when they're available!) so I can afford to buy a new camera!!
Steve was up super-early to help steward at a boot sale this morning, and we were up and dressed and the boys had finished breakfast by the time his shift finished at 9am.
Blake and Bella and their two came round, much to Ben's delight, and he was very pleased that they were still here (albeit about to leave to get ready for a wedding) when we got back from his swimming lesson!
Swimming was brilliant. He's in a different class, but actually it makes it possible for me to take both boys by myself if needed. I've decided we really need to get some new swimming shorts for Ben, his still fit him, just, but are looking rather short... we got him a new swimcap though, one with nice stretchy elastic instead of solidified elastic! He swam very well today. I really really would love to be able to take him swimming during the week though. Must chat to Steve about that. Get his backfloat on him, get him used to being horizontal rather than vertical!! One of the girls in his class got her 5 metre badge today, that was pretty brilliant really. The day Ben does that I might just burst with pride and love and wow.
Beautiful weather for a beautiful wedding this afternoon. When I see the brides and grooms these days I can't help but think how young they all seem to be - and then I remember how young Steve and I were, and young we seemed to be to people as well! Does make me feel old though. Well, middle-aged at least. That sounds even worse.
Bought that garden sieve this afternoon! That bodes well for next week. Hope the weather is nice enough (ie not soggy) to let the boys loose in the garden while I dig. Ah what the heck. Even if it's damp they have dry stuff to change into after.
Strictly Come Dancing TV dinner this evening. Charley roamed the floor and was offered bits to eat by the rest of us, including Ben, which was cute and funny to watch! What a bonkers line-up for Strictly though. Should be fun to watch.
And now, I'm really hoping that the Bear stays asleep long enough for me to finish the washing-up, so I can sit down with Steve and a glass of beer to catch up on some Doctor Who.
Yes please!
