A Crewman Revisiting His Plane

I returned to Corvallis today with my dear friend who is a former crewman on a B-24 back in 1944-45.
He was the radio operator and a waist gunner on the plane and flew 9 missions over Italy and Germany.
He honored me by allowing me to assist him as we climbed into the tail end of the fuselage and moved forward to the flight deck finally exiting through the bomb bay.
He regaled the other folks with stories of his time in a B-24.
We shared quite a marvelous day despite the rain and wind.
