Ramadan

It is getting really hot over here. I mean REALLY HOT. Think it got close to 50degC today. Makes one want to stay put and avoid going out unless it is absolutely necessary.

I was surprised then that a friend came to visit with her son - one of the kids G teaches, in the middle of the afternoon! Wow. We had to go out shortly afterwards, and I actually went down and drove the car round the block before G got in. It's like getting into an oven when you get into a car that's been parked in the open. All the spots where cars will be in the shade at the hottest time of the day get taken quickly.

So, we went to church for 5pm to attend a special four week study on the Old Testament; really just giving an overview of it so you can put the pieces together. We've already missed the first two and next week is the last one, but something is better than nothing.

And after that, we called into Wafi as they are giving Arabic coffee and dates to anyone who's there around Iftar time. Both were delicious and two kilos of dates disappeared quickly (see extra). Love the tent.

My blip is of a mosque in the Jumeirah area. I love the white against the blue. And it will be 17.6.17 tomorrow and Tigg has already beaten us on the date! :)  Found out that Cars 3 is on this weekend, and we've already got a little party together to go to see it tomorrow afternoon!
