Sibenik
Today we visited the 57th International Children's Festival in the medieval centre of Sibenik. Fans of superlatives would enjoy St James' Cathedral, the world's largest church built completely of stone, with no brick or wooden supports. It is also known for its frieze of 71 heads. They depict ordinary 15th century citizens. The building was expensive to build and it is said that, the stingier the individual contributor, the grosser the caricature.
Now in Split, of which more anon.
