What did the Romans ever do for us?

In Split today, we explored Diocletian's Palace, built by the Roman emperor (AD 245-313). Today the Palace is not an isolated tourist attraction but the heart of the City, with ancient streets and courtyards intensively used by current residents.

The Cathedral of St Dominus was very impressive, built as Diocletian's mausoleum, with some ornate religious features and an octagonal shape, seen well from the inside and from the top of the bell tower, from which there were great views of the City and the busy port.

Later some people-watching, managing to spot Mr Blue-eyes, a Dalmatian walking a Dalmatian and two Aperol-spritzes in search of a consumer. I can help with that.
