Sunday 18th June 2017
Mum managed to come to the Sunday service at church for the first time in six months, and everyone was pleased to see her there. She wasn't able to stand for the hymns, but did somehow make it to the altar rail for communion. My sister Susan also joined us for the day so that we could remember our Dad together on Father's Day.
After church we had a roast lunch at the local carvery (yes, in 30 degree heat!) including a cheeky dessert, but it was far too hot and sticky to even contemplate doing any gardening in the afternoon which had been our original intention. So far the garden is standing up fairly well to the heatwave, with the help of my trusty watering can, and all the Rose bushes are blooming, including this miniature tea rose outside the kitchen.
