Beautiful
Birthday Blip
I woke up today on my 19th birthday to beautiful sunshine streaming in the window. As I had the day off work it was nice to just have a quiet morning, sticking some of my India photos into an album and listening to podcasts. I received so many kind messages from people, it made me feel special and very lucky to have such loving friends and family.
I met Lois and Rum in the park. Rum is like a great big loping gentle giant and I love being with him.
Afternoon was spent charity shop hunting with penny - found a couple of good things and had a lovely time walking along byres road in the sunshine, just chatting.
Bumped into Megan on byres Rd as well which was unexpected!
We passed a young homeless man who looked totally dejected, so I gave him some money - but I always feel like when I do that it's never enough to help. A bird flew into one of the charity shops we went into and perched on top of the vinyls.
Met mum dad and Sophie and opened some presents - people have been so generous and thoughtful! We took poppy to the park, which was crammed full of people making the most of the sun.
We all went to Saramago for dinner. Apart from a bit of stress trying to choose from the menu, it was the perfect evening - sitting around a table with people I love. It was low key and relaxed but that's exactly how I wanted it.
It was a beautiful day in every way.
It lead me to think "Why not just be happy? " . We all add in so much added stress and worry, myself included, but it's the moments like this that you realise that we should learn to live in the moment and enjoy every second, and appreciate the people who we sometimes take for granted.
The day ended back at the flat with Penny, who when she realised that I hadn't had a cake to blow the candles out on, I insisted on lighting one of the candles in a wine bottle so that I could make a wish ... although I can't say what I wished for because then it won't come true.
