Getting there
After the encouragement from the physios yesterday, I decided to walk to my favourite local nature reserve.
It's a mile to get there and when I'm permitted to drive, I usually drive to the car park and then walk around this fabulous and extensive area.
Two more weeks to go before I can use the car, so today I was just aiming to get there and back.
I walked down there happily, stopping to speak to various local dog walkers en route. I was so tempted to venture well into the park, and I even headed off along one of the paths.
Ahead I spotted a lively young Irish Setter off his lead, in the company of a couple of women giving full attention to their smartphones. Common sense kicked in. Not worth the risk. So I headed back to the car park.
The heavens opened. (Lovely warm rain but not supposed to arrive before this afternoon.) It didn't last long and I walked up the hill back home.
Yes, I was shattered, but with every day, it all feels more normal.
