Sunrise

And so to morning
And arose again that glorious orb
To repel
To overthrow
The thralls of nightime's dark
To bring glory
Rapture
Enlightenment of the soul
And refreshed
All awakened
And gave joyous thanks
For nightime's passing
Yet also
Thanked that peace strewn space
For carrying them
Safe
Cared and comforted
That they might rejoice
And arising
Stand
To greet with upturned faces
Filled with awe
Witnessing
Birth
Without pain
A life
Beginning
Rising from the dark ashes of night
Pheonix in flame
Calling
Heralding
With flame-filled horn
