Cracks let the light get through

Dear Diary,

I thought I was just photographing the lovely illuminated leaves but when I looked more closely I could see a small hole in one leaf with the lovely sunlight coming through.  It made me think of the saying that we should not bemoan the cracks in ourselves as that is how the light gets in.

The Japanese celebrate this idea by creating cracked dishes that they repair with gold to emphasize their imperfections.  It is so much easier to focus on the flaw than it is to recognize the beauty inherent in it.

I am slowly getting my computer restored and learning its ways so that in a few days we will be old friends.  Despite the chaos I did not miss my posting so the record of daily posts continues!
