Manchester Community Choir
Today's the day ........................... to sing out
There's a lot of singing going on in Kendal this weekend - and quite a lot of it is outside in the streets.
It's the Street Choir Festival and it's been organised by the local choir - Lakeland Voices - who are celebrating 20 years of singing in Kendal. There's all sorts of workshops, mass choir singing, picnics and other events happening and something like 900 singers from all over the country will be taking part.
This is the Manchester Community Choir who were singing in the middle of town this afternoon. They were absolutely brilliant. No music or words to be seen - just lovely harmonious voices singing great songs.
The extra shows the words to some other community singing that happened earlier in the day. I'll not expand at any length on the match that followed. We had such high hopes for the Lions but we knew that it was going to be tough for them - playing in the 'land 'that has forgotten how to lose'. The only nice thing was thinking that there would be quite a few of our Kiwi friends watching it at the same time as we were.
Ah well - there will be a couple more chances to somehow write ourselves into the pages of rugby history .....................
