Pretty Little Thing

It's a very small rose and it's been hiding between a conifer and the fence at the edge of the garden. I rescued one bloom and brought it in so I could photograph it we could enjoy it.

I used my veteran Nikon D300 with the 105mm macro lens for this and it had me scratching my head a bit getting the processing right. The intense red continued to be overexposed in the raw conversion and it took several attempts before I was satisfied that it was alright.

I said at the start it was a small rose, it really is tiny - about 15mm from the bottom of the bloom to the top.
