A Ficus......

This is another addition to my collection that I got at the Orlando Convention.  This Blip is for today, which gets me up to date.  This mornings blip was for 6/25.

The Ficus has been styled.  The trunk shows wear and tear... a scar where a branch was cut,  stripping some of the bark, making great character.
    If you look, you will see three branches at the top.  One of them will be the leader to make the trunk,going  up to the apex.   The other 2 will be primary, lower branches.  As the trunk grows and moves upwards, you will see additional leaves develop, then grow branches.  as each leaf grows, a petiole will send out a leader, and then another, .....    With directional clipping and  patience a whole new top will grow from this beautiful trunk.

The extra is the pre-bonsai photo I took after bringing the plant home 3 weeks ago.  This is how a bonsai begins to grow and develop.
