Robert Burns Was Here

I could have blipped the usual picture postcard view of Burns' Cottage, but I liked this one better because of the ghostly look of these nightshirts. If you view in large, you'll see that one tells of the birth of Robert Burns and the other of his brother and sisters.

Really enjoyed this simple cottage museum and the way it was set out - unlike the larger Burns' Museum up the road. This had so much going on all at once that it was difficult to take any of it in. You'd be trying to listen to a poem read by schoolchildren on a handset, when the lights would dim and a noisy burst of singing and videos would intrude. We got so cross, we came out without seeing it all properly!

They promised us showers today, but we got torrential rain instead, so couldn't do the walk round Ayr we were hoping to do. Another day perhaps?
