Colourful Umbrellas

We certainly needed our umbrellas today, as it has been a steady rain most of the day.  We are very pleased, because we badly need the rain, especially to fill our lake again.  I photographed these people down by the jetty.  I was determined to do my 8,000 steps, so walked around town until I clocked them up.  Feel very pleased with myself.

Blip No 1949

Year 1949.  The National Party won the election, it took another 12 years before the Labour party won an election again.  On the local scene, the Upper Clutha Gymkhana Club was established.   It became the Hawea Picnic Racing Club, the first meeting iwas held n 1972.   (extras 1 and 2).
