Vive la Vie

View of the city

From my run around Stanley Park.
Today we caught the Hop on Hop off bus so that we could explore Vancouver. All was going well until the bus broke down. The driver said 'sorry' and then just got off the bus without offering any explanation. We tourists just sat there in polite silence until someone finally decided to take matters into their own hands! We were ushered off the bus onto a different one. It was so bizarre! We took the bus to Gastown where we got off to have a little potter and have a look at the 'famous ' steam clock, which was a little uninspiring. We then, eventually, got back on the bus after a little misunderstanding (we were offered a full refund for their basic incompetence). We carried on to Granville island where we caught a boat which was exciting. We then headed to a fantastic undercover food market where we picked up some lunch. The variety of food and atmosphere were amazing. From here we headed over to the kids market where the kids went a little crazy and then, thanks to a great tip off from our BC friends, we 'stumbled' across a free water park for kids. Mama just so happened to have swim cosies and towels in the day bag!
We caught the boat back across and walked along the coastal path back to English Bay. After a rest hubby went for a run and then as the kids were more jet lagged than we realised we let them sleep for a bit longer and I went for another lovely run in Stanley Park, which is a fantastic place for all outdoor activities.
