Apparently, The Nose Doesn't Know
I have a nose for some things. Sniffing out food I like, for instance.
I have a nose for other things, too. Pollen. It seems ragweed, sagebrush and chenopods are letting it fly in large amounts right now. I use these two nasal sprays and the Zryrtec year-round to ward off allergens - from seasonal pollen to dust.
I can testify to you that after three nights of opening the doors and windows to enjoy the cool night air that they are not working. Look through this screen. See the runny nose and watery eyes?
NB: Hard to type with one hand holding tissue to nose.
The watery eyes might be an excuse for me not being a good witness to a bank robbery that was held right under said runny nose.
I was watching my groceries being bagged, making sure they weren't more than three pounds each, when the indoor bank - a mere twenty feet from me - was being fleeced. I was questioned as a potential witness, however, I had been focused elsewhere.
This happened a month ago in our town, too.
I think there's a lesson in there somewhere. Maybe being more aware of my surroundings is more necessary now than ever. I don't lock my door when I go out because it seemed the nose always knew I was safe. Maybe the nose doesn't know?
