I'll Not Be Intimidated

To the Editor:

As a Democratic woman I will not be bullied by any Republican man. Ever. (My club) will not be intimidated by any Republican man. Ever. The club received a hateful mailing targeting the most effective Speaker of the House in history, who just happens to be a woman. Using words like whore, cunt and bitch only diminish the standing of the Party or organization that person represents. Additionally, putting the stamp on the envelope upside down, declaring war, is poisonous to our democracy.

I also received a phone call, identified as originating from the Republican Club, from a very angry man, blaming me for every perceived wrong done to his Party by the Democrats, from removing signs to redistricting. To be fair, the President of the Republican Club denounced these actions. She suspects who made the call but did not release his name.

A complaint has been filed with the Sheriff's department. We will not be intimidated in Green Valley or in Phoenix. There are 26 bills against women that every woman should know about. Join Senator Paula Aboud, (our club), AZ List, and a host of other women's organizations for a rally - W.I.N. or Women Ignited Now - at 1:00 on Monday, October 1 at the Community Performance and Arts Center. It's time to stop being intimidated!
