Grey Heron

If the heron stays on the island in the Heritage Park a photograph, for me, is out of the question but today he was standing in the water up the the nature reserve.

Sadly, the public are not allowed into that area but I managed to get as near the water's edge as possible and then sort of pointed my camera round the side of a tree to try and get my shot. Herons are really obliging birds and they will stay, still as a statue, in the same spot for many minutes.

There was a little rain .... big, wet drops but not enough to send me scurrying back to the car.
