Asphalt Griddle
WORST.
JUNE.
EVER.
June 2017 set new marks for heat in Tucson. Three consecutive days in one awful week were 115°/46° or higher. The last 15 days of the month featured high temperature readings of 105°/41° or more. Tucson’s June average temperature of 89.7°/32.1°, which factors in the high and low readings for all 30 days, will take the top spot of any month in 130 years of record-keeping.
The good news: our hottest month is over. Today's average temperature is 102°, but dropping to under triple digits over the next week.
It's been super dry, too. Measurable rain at the airport since 1 Feb has been 0.43"/1.09 cm for a total of 1.61"/4.09 cm for the year to date. That is half of the typical amount.
PS I've always wanted to do this with eggs! :-)
