The dinosaurs are around - watch out...

Virgin Media, or rather their contractors, continue to plague the village digging up pavement and road to lay their fibre cables. The village looks as if it's undergone a giant operation with long ugly scars along most roads with lots of tales about destroyed hedges and water mains and telephone cables being cut. We ourselves suffered three days without a telephone in June without a word of an apology.

I've long thought these mechanical diggers, cherry pickers and the like have the look of dinosaurs about them, particularly as they are feeding, as this one is, on a great pile of rubble. Very much Fred Flintstone at the Bedrock Quarry where dinosaurs did this sort of work.

As you can tell, a slow news day. Swimming, a bit of list pruning, walk and rugby AGM made up the day.
