Rebuilding

Mum was in a great deal of pain, and her legs felt very weak and heavy making it hard for her to walk. Not surprisingly she felt very down, and even lunch out with my sister and niece couldn't lift her spirits. My niece had baked a delicious raspberry and white chocolate sponge cake, and we polished off the lot between the four of us with our afternoon cup of tea.

I pruned off all the hideous brown finished flowers from the buddleia in the hope of encouraging some fresh lilac ones. I don't think I've seen a single butterfly on it this summer, and not many bees either. In previous years there have been lots of both. Worrying.

The setting sun cast a lovely evening light through the foliage, which I think I caught quite well in my main picture. More roses in Extras, a whole group of them on one bush.
